Speedsters Beyond Jobs and deliveries

How the Job NPC pays, why Fragile exists, and when to skip a hard delivery.

Jobs and Deliveries

Jobs are the engine of Speedsters Beyond. Quests exist. Races exist. Mystery Orbs exist. None of them replace the Job NPC who says, in so many words, deliver the goods. If your points stall, you are not “unlucky on morphs” — you dropped the commute.

This page assumes you already spawned once. If not, use getting started. Spend order still lives on the tier list. Ascension still has its own guide.

Anatomy of a job

  1. Talk to the Job NPC near spawn.
  2. Accept a delivery. The HUD places a marker.
  3. Reach it before the timer.
  4. Get paid in points (and XP toward the level bar).
  5. Hit Return to Spawn and take the next one.

That is the entire interaction. There is no hidden crafting table. The skill is pathing: straight lines on the green grid, then the same habit on sand and snow when markers move out.

Difficulty and Fragile

Early jobs are generous. Harder jobs shrink the timer to roughly 30 seconds in recorded clips and add Fragile — clip a tree and the delivery fails. Failed jobs waste the run and the mood. Rules of thumb:

  • If you still steer like a tank, stay on easy/normal until a morph raises Speed.
  • Fragile + forest = hug the open tiles, not the tree line.
  • Do not chase a Mystery Orb mid-Fragile. The orb will wait; the timer will not.
  • After a fail, Return to Spawn anyway. Standing in the trees does not refund the job.

Hard deliveries pay more. They are not mandatory for the first ten ascensions. Greed is how people eat a tree at 90% of the marker.

Jobs versus quests

Jobs are short, repeatable, NPC-gated deliveries. Quests are longer objectives (destroy 100 snow trees, smash sand hills) used for evolutions. You can hold both. Do not pause a Fragile job to start a snow quest unless the marker is already in snow.

Quests are how you unlock evolved Wally West, evolved Goku, Dio, Ichigo, and the rest of the late roster. Jobs are how you afford the base morph so those quests are even possible.

Return to Spawn is part of the job

Every beginner clip includes the same groan: “I forgot I could return.” The button sits on the Speed bar row next to Change Speed. Use it after every successful delivery. Running home looks cinematic and loses a job cycle.

Return to Spawn does not cancel Fragile if you already failed. It does not redeem codes. It does not pick up an orb. It only teleports.

When jobs lose to orbs and races

  • An uncontested Mystery Orb at 12,500 points beats several easy jobs. Take it, then return to the NPC.
  • A race that you can actually win is extra income (third place at 350 is a snack, not a meal).
  • If the lobby is empty, jobs are still the AFK-adjacent loop — you still have to steer.

If you are comparing income to auto-job thumbnails, read auto-farm for the feature list and the ban warning. The manual commute is enough to hit Bullet and the treadmill.

Pathing on later rings

The map is concentric biomes. Grass, then sand, then snow. Job markers will eventually send you across rings. Unlock enough Speed that a 30-second timer is boring. Until then, decline hard jobs and keep the streak alive. The progression checklist marks the Speed breakpoints we have actually seen in footage.

Jobs are not a side activity. They are the reason the rest of the wiki exists. Finish one more delivery before you open Morph “just to look.”

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for jobs, morphs, and ascension.

Why did my delivery fail?

Timer expired or you hit a tree on a Fragile job. Return to Spawn and take an easier one.

Should I walk back to the NPC?

No. Use Return to Spawn after every job.

Are jobs the same as quests?

No. Jobs are short deliveries. Quests are long objectives for evolutions.

When do I take hard jobs?

After a morph raises Speed enough that a 30-second timer is comfortable and you can miss trees.
